Release Notes — Daria Connect
New versions, build information and important improvements for the DARIA Connect app.
Version 1.1.1
- Starting with this version, the app is available exclusively for iPhone. It was never optimized for iPad and is therefore no longer offered for download there. If you already have the app installed on an iPad, it will keep working but will no longer receive updates.
Version 1.1.0
- Groundwork for a new profile view in the member area: profiles will soon open right on top of the directory, so your scroll position and already loaded members are preserved when you go back. The new view will be activated in an upcoming update.
- Behind-the-scenes improvements to our release process, so bug fixes and new versions reach you faster in the future.

Speed & navigation
- When you tap the “Connect” or “Member” menu items, the app now responds instantly: it shows a loading preview right away instead of briefly staying on the previous screen. The next screen is also prepared as you tap, so it appears faster.
Language & dates
- In the English app language, dates are now shown consistently in the US format – numeric as MM/DD/YYYY (e.g. 06/09/2026) and written out in English order (e.g. June 9, 2026). Previously, some dates still appeared in the German format.
Stability
- Opening some other members’ profiles could fail with an error under certain circumstances. This has been fixed.

Connect & chat
- The “Connect” menu item now shows a counter with the number of your unread messages – both in the bottom navigation bar and in the side menu.
- When you tap a push notification about a new message, the matching conversation now opens directly instead of the home screen.
- The unread-message counter is now easier to read.
Posts & feed
- The loading preview in the feed now matches the current post layout and no longer jumps when real content appears.
- The emoji picker appears as a grid again instead of a narrow vertical column.
- If you open a post that has since been deleted – for example via an older notification – you now see a designed info page with a clear way back to the home screen instead of a technical error message.
Rewards
- If you’re not a Founding Member, the Rewards area now shows a focused view with your total points.
- The Daria Coins shown in the header now match the design and are easier to read.
- The text in the revenue-share box is now much easier to read.
Stability
- Signing out and some related actions could fail with an error under certain circumstances. This has been fixed.

Chat
- Your own messages now show ticks: one tick for sent, and two ticks once your message has been read.
- When you open a chat from a profile, the conversation header now reliably shows the other person’s name instead of occasionally “Unknown contact”.
- The way the time is shown in chats has been fixed.
Home & feed
- When you open a post and go back, your selected filter and scroll position are now kept – you no longer end up back at the top on “All”.
Posts
- The post type “Announcement” is now called “Spotlight” and is still highlighted in the feed with a golden bar.
- You can now reliably open the authors of posts and comments by tapping their name and message them directly – including straight from the feed.
- You can now remove an already-saved title image again in the post editor.
Members
- Member search now opens as a large sheet from the top. The search field stays visible even when the keyboard is open.
- The first page of the member list now appears faster.
- The member list keeps loading reliably, even if an entry is malformed or loading more briefly fails.
Rewards
- The daily reward for opening the app is reliably counted on the same day again.
Other & stability
- When switching between tabs, the bottom navigation bar now stays stable, and the member list shows a loading preview immediately instead of briefly appearing empty.
- Android: the app no longer asks for permission to access your photos – to upload, it just opens the system picker for a single image.
- While editing your profile photos, a coloured placeholder now appears during loading instead of a grey box.
- Background syncing of messages, posts and activities runs more reliably.
- The inbox no longer runs into an error.

Chat
- Timestamps in a conversation are now correct and follow your time zone.
- Messages reliably appear in the right order again.
- The pinned header of a conversation now has the right spacing, so nothing gets hidden behind it.
Posts
- If you move a post back to draft before it’s published, no notification is sent to others for it anymore.

Home & feed
- When you scroll, the feed tabs and filters now stay pinned to the top, so you can switch between sections quickly at any time.
- Posts in the feed now show a short text excerpt, so you can see at a glance what they’re about.
Videos in posts
- Vimeo videos in a post’s detail view have been reworked: the player adapts better to your screen and the preview images show up more reliably.
- The video area inside a post now has straight, clean edges.
Rewards
- The progress bar now fills with a small animation when you open the Rewards page.
- Your DAC figure at the top and the progress below it now always show the same, up-to-date value.
- Daily app opens are now counted correctly, only once per day.
- Reward credits for app opens, favourites and completing your profile now sync more reliably with the server.
Members & favourites
- After a reinstall, the app automatically restores your favourites from the cloud – you don’t have to set them again.
- Search now keeps spaces consistently while you type – including member names made up of several words.
Chat
- In a conversation’s header, the elements no longer overlap.
Stability
- Other members’ profiles load reliably even when the background sync briefly fails.

Videos in posts
- You can now add up to five videos per post – as a direct upload or a Vimeo link – each with a preview image.
- Vimeo videos now play right inside the app instead of opening Safari.
- Preview images for Vimeo videos now show reliably in the feed and in the detail view.
- When uploading, Daria checks the video as you pick it, so only playable formats get through.
Posts
- When you create a new post, the “Community” category is now preselected.
- Scheduled posts now respect your time zone correctly.
- Your own scheduled posts no longer miss the link to the author.
Members & map
- Long member names now wrap neatly in the cards instead of being cut off.
- You can now favourite members straight from the member list.
- On the map view, navigation and the pin overview work reliably again, and favourites stay in sync with the map.
Rewards
- Time information in Rewards now uses your phone’s time zone.
- The profile-badge prompt now takes you straight to editing your profile.
Other
- Help links now open an email to support directly.
- The Connect search field now keeps spaces while you type.
- Onboarding now shows exactly as many slides as are actually available.
Speed & stability
- App start and the post editor load leaner and faster.
- Background profile syncing runs less often, saving battery.
- The connection to the server is more stable thanks to new timeout and retry rules.

Other members’ profiles
- When you open a member’s profile straight from the feed on the home screen, location, birthday and membership now show up right away – instead of appearing empty at first and loading a moment later.

Push notifications
- Notifications now work reliably. On Android the status-bar icon shows the Daria symbol instead of a white square.
- If you once declined notifications, you can now re-enable them directly in Settings. You can also see there whether they are allowed at the device level.
- Tapping a notification takes you back to the matching screen.
Other members’ profiles
- Location, birthday and membership now display reliably on other members’ profiles and stay in place even after brief connection issues.
- Switching quickly between profiles no longer triggers a “Component not found” error, and the app no longer crashes.
- Profiles now have their own “Calendar” tab.
Connect & search
- Search returns matches reliably again as you type.
- The search field stays visible while the keyboard is open, and the search view now follows the familiar Apple style: anchored at the top, with the keyboard easy to dismiss.
Posts
- The editor now loads a post’s content reliably.
- Editing no longer wipes the post content if the content briefly fails to reload.
- Posts are no longer blocked unnecessarily on a flaky connection.
Member directory
- The map view now shows only your favourites when the favourites filter is active.
Speed
- Syncs with the server now run in the background. Your actions appear immediately instead of waiting for the sync to finish.

Faster profile opening
- Other members’ profiles now open instantly instead of briefly stalling when tapped.
- Profile pictures stay reliably visible and no longer flicker when you switch between profiles.
Favourites
- The Favourites tab now works properly: you see your saved members right away instead of a “Coming soon” notice.
- Favourites are kept even if you open someone else’s profile in between, and the profile pictures in the favourites list display correctly.
Connect & chat
- Chats now reliably show the name and profile picture of the person you’re messaging, instead of “Unknown contact” or empty initials.
- Search stays open on the first keystroke and presents matches clearly.
- Chats open faster because the first message appears immediately.
Member directory
- The header stays visible while you scroll through the directory.
- The image gallery in profiles can be paged through correctly again.
Posts
- Formatting such as bold text and paragraphs is preserved when you publish.
- Scheduled posts now show the correct date.
- The back arrow in the top bar now follows the familiar Apple style, and the reaction picker wraps cleanly on small screens.
Rewards
- Our founding members now see their start-bonus badge (120% / 140%) on the Rewards page.
- The DAC counter updates reliably after your balance changes.
Menu & stability
- The side menu was tidied up and the “Finance” area renamed accordingly.
- The app starts more reliably and no longer crashes if an update was interrupted during startup. A short note now appears while it is being set up.

Faster, smoother navigation
- Switching to the Home screen no longer freezes and responds noticeably faster.
- Moving into other areas of the app no longer takes several seconds and now responds instantly.
Feed
- Images in the feed reliably load directly inside the app again, instead of opening the browser or staying greyed out when you return.
- Feed images appear faster because they are now prepared in a single batch before the posts are shown.

Connect chat
- The header of a chat now stays visible while scrolling, so you can always see who you are messaging.
- New messages automatically scroll to the bottom of the thread, keeping the latest content in view.
Challenges & DAC
- The activity history now shows a clear note when it is temporarily unavailable, instead of a misleading prompt to retry.
- The DAC counter in the header again matches the value shown in the Challenges area.
Improvements & bug fixes
- Behind the scenes, the Android build was stabilised so the splash screen is generated more reliably.

Faster, more reliable app start
- The app now starts more reliably and shows key areas such as Home, Login, Onboarding and linked posts faster.
- After updates or longer loading moments, there are fewer blank intermediate states and smoother handoffs into the app.
- Fonts are now bundled directly with the app, making the interface feel more stable and less dependent on external loading times.
Connect, Member map & profile
- From a pin on the Member map, you can now start a Connect conversation directly when messaging is available for that profile.
- Connect chats and the inbox feel more polished: profile pictures, chat bubbles, timestamps and loading states are shown more reliably.
- Profile photos, header images and bio backgrounds load more smoothly. Your bio background now also syncs more reliably with DariaHub.
- On Android, the "+ Foto" button in your profile works more reliably, including on devices with stricter photo and camera handling.
Improvements & bug fixes
- Pull-to-refresh in the feed no longer gets stuck after restoring the app and reloads content more reliably.
- On iOS, photo and camera permission prompts are clearer for profile photos, header images and bio backgrounds.
- Privacy links opened from inside the app now use the system browser more reliably.
- Several internal safety checks make startup, app version handling and image uploads more robust, so fewer issues surface for you.

New: Connect direct messages
- Connect now has its own area for 1:1 messages between members - with an inbox, chat history and search.
- You can start a conversation directly from a profile and send messages.
- New Connect notifications take you straight to the right chat; message notifications can be turned on or off separately in push settings.
- If a contact is blocked or no longer available, the chat now shows clearer guidance and the right next actions.
Improvements & bug fixes
- Connect search now helps you find people, existing chats and matching messages faster.
- Rewards are easier to understand: the tab is now called "Challenges", daily app opens can count toward progress, and DAC points that are not listed one by one are explained more clearly.
- Profile media is cleaner: profile photo, header image and "About me" background now use separate image slots.
- Your profile description can be longer, and member details such as "Member since" are shown with the correct language formatting.
- Posts and media behave more reliably: videos publish only after upload is complete, and scheduled posts can be prepared a few hours ahead.

New: Member area
- The app now has a dedicated Member area with directory, search and map so you can discover other members faster.
- The directory supports both grid and list view; in the list view you also see a short bio preview.
- Member search opens in its own sheet — with recent searches, smoother keyboard handling and a direct jump into the profile.
- Brand new: the Member map. If you opt in inside your profile, you show up as a pin and can find other members in your region. When several pins overlap, a stack sheet opens with all profiles at that spot.
- You stay in control of map visibility — the toggle lives in "Edit profile" and can be switched off again at any time.

- Login is more reliable: error states are shown more clearly and you get stuck on a blank screen less often.
- The Member map now loads reliably — also on flaky connections, after an app restart, or when you open it as a second screen.

- When you open another member's profile, their name, profile picture and "about me" text now show up reliably — even when that person has only filled in their profile in the Daria Hub so far.
- Profiles that previously looked empty fill in automatically: existing Hub details are pulled into the app on first view.

- On a profile, "Block" and "Unblock" now live in the three-dot menu at the top right, keeping the profile view itself clean.
- The side menu now shows the installed app version at the bottom, with a quiet hint and a direct link to the store whenever a newer version is available.

- Names and profile pictures of other members stay up to date in the feed, even right after someone refreshes their profile in the Hub.
